Simpson Bay is a practical base on Sint Maarten. Restaurants and bars are near the residence, and so are supermarkets and marinas. A short drive takes you to Simpson Bay beach or Maho beach, and Princess Juliana International Airport is only a few minutes away by car too.
The Hills Residence was built on a hillside, which explains its views, and for that reason we advise guests to rent a car. Having one also lets you head across the island to Philipsburg and Marigot, or out to the beaches on the French side.
Shared jacuzzi, lobby and roof pool of The Hills Residence
Guests can use a swimming pool on the roof of the residence, which looks across the lagoon. It opens daily between 8 am and 8 pm, and sun loungers are placed around the water.
The residence also has a shared a lobby. An elevator runs in the building, private parking is available, and cameras monitor the outside of the buildings.
The concierge team takes care of requests such as a rental car, a table at a restaurant, an excursion or a boat trip around the island. Contact them ahead of your arrival so they can plan with you.
Daily life in unit B227 on floor two
The bedroom is separate from the living room. Its king-size bed comes with a closet fitted with hangers, and darkening curtains keep the morning light out.
A sofa and a flat-screen TV furnish the living room, along with a dining table that seats the whole group at mealtimes. When a third person comes along, the sofa opens into a bed. The bathroom has a shower, and the toilet is in its own room.
There is no balcony in this condo. Daylight enters through the living room windows, and they give onto the lagoon.
Meals are easy to prepare in the condo. For cooking there is a hob under an extractor hood, plus an oven and a microwave, while a dishwasher and a refrigerator complete the kitchen. Among the smaller appliances are a toaster, a kettle, a blender and an espresso machine. Crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are supplied, and there are glasses for both wine and champagne.
Air conditioning and high-speed Wi-Fi are included, and a washer-dryer takes care of laundry. The condo comes with bed linen as well as beach and bath towels, plus bathroom essentials, a hair dryer, an iron and an ironing board.
Parents travelling with a baby can have a cot and a high chair. The front door works with an electronic lock, and the condo has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Check-in begins at 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am at the latest. Three guests is the maximum, so the condo works for a couple, friends travelling together or a small family.
Extra towels and an intermediate housekeeping service can be booked while you are staying. With the full kitchen and the washer-dryer, B227 is as practical for a long stay as for a short break.
